UEFA 2026 World Cup qualifying Group C looks like being a three-way battle between Scotland, Greece and Denmark, with just one point separating the sides heading into the latest round of fixtures.

That means there will be plenty riding on this clash at Hampden Park, with hosts Scotland sitting second in the section, level on points with the Dans and one ahead of their opponents on Thursday.

Greece are rated a progressive outfit, but were sunk 3-0 at home by Denmark last month and that was a seriously concerning effort.

Ivan Jovanovic’s side registered only one shot on target and an xG total of 0.17 in that defeat to the Danes and that should give Scotland plenty of confidence.

Of course, Greece did beat Scotland 3-0 at Hampden in the Nations League play-offs earlier this year, but the Tartan Army were 1-0 winners in Athens and Steve Clarke’s men are fancied to strike again.

At 17/10, Scotland rate as a good bet to claim a huge Hampden success, which would go a long way to securing them at least a play-off place for next summer’s finals, as they bid to qualify for the World Cup for the first time since 1998.

Scott McTominay has blossomed since making the move to Italy and the Napoli star is also a key performer for Scotland.

The former Manchester United midfielder notched the only goal in Scotland’s 1-0 victory over Greece in March and he looks a solid bet to repeat the trick.

McTominay hit two shots in the Tartan Army’s 0-0 draw with Denmark last month and three in the 2-0 victory over Belarus - the fourth team in this group - a few days later.

The 28-year-old scored 16 goals in 49 games for club and country last term and he can send the Hampden crowd wild on Thursday.
