Shay's Prediction: Group Winner Predictions
Sun 16 June, 20:00
There are some fascinating match ups in the Group Stages, particularly in Group B where Spain, Italy and Croatia will all be targeting top spot. And in Group D, the Netherlands will pose a big test to France.
Here are my six group winner selections which when combined would return at 10/1 ACCA:
I am backing France because the strength in their squad is just fantastic. I was looking at their bench the other day and a lot of the players there would get into most other teams in the tournament. The depth and quality is incredible.
Shay's Prediction: Top Goalscorer
Mon 17 June, 20:00
I'll go with Kylian Mbappe. After his recent move to Real Madrid he'll be looking to remind their fans and the rest of the world of what he can do.
He's a world class player and I think he'll light up the tournament.
Shay's Prediction: Player of the Tournament
Tue 18 June, 20:00
I am going to go with Bernardo Silva of Portugal. I think the Portuguese could be dark horses at this tournament, I really do. They have such a strong squad and they scored the most goals in qualifying and conceded the least, so they'll be full of confidence coming into the championships.
Bernardo Silva was excellent for Manchester City in their title winning season and I can see him putting in another really strong showing in this tournament.
Shay's Prediction: Young Player of the Tournament
Tue 14 June, 20:00
I am backing Jude Bellingham for this one. He's had a phenomenal season of course at Real Madrid winning the league and the Champions League and he's absolutely setting the world alight at the moment.
If England are to do well this summer, Jude will be central to that.
My pick here is Phil Foden. Off the back of a magnificent season for Manchester City, Foden is in brilliant form and I think England will be strong in the tournament.
It will be interesting to see where Gareth Southgate decides to play Foden in the team but wherever he is in the attacking third of the pitch I can see him having a big impact.
