Saturday Racing Tips – Irish NH Tips

This horse is the model of consistency on the level and did really well to tough out the win last time. He was a very good second in this race last season, when conceding significant weight to the now Group 1 winning, Jan Brueghel.

With no Jan Brueghel lurking to spoil the party, this race looks to be his for the taking. Hopefully he will bounce out and try to make it a real strong test of stamina, and if he does just that, he should be very difficult to pass. I rate him as a very strong bet.

The favourite here is 3/3 and has plenty of good form in the book, but I just feel she's priced up far too short against a well-bred daughter of Wooton Bassett, in the shape of BEAUTIFY.

The selection ran in a very competitive course and distance maiden last time, conceding experience and race fitness to the winner that day, who has since come out and ran a very good third in a Group 3 at Royal Ascot last week.

She should strip much fitter this Saturday and will be much more streetwise too. I’m expecting her to take a big step forward and give the favourite plenty to think about. With that in mind, I will happily take a punt on her at the prices.

I'm willing to take a chance on this son of St Marks Basilica at a bit of a price. He was heavily punted on debut before being incredibly slow out of the stalls at Gowran Park. He blew all chances at the start that day, on what is a front runners track, but Seamie Heffernan looked after him and gave him a good educational ride thereafter.

Hopefully he will have learnt plenty from that experience, and if he delivers on the promise that the market support suggested previously, hopefully he can get involved at the business end of the race here.
