Saturday Racing Tips at Curragh – Irish NH Tips

LOS ANGELES – Curragh

Sat 16 Aug, 15:27

This horse is a multiple Group 1 winner and has won at the top level at both ten and twelve furlongs. He may have disappointed at Ascot last time, but he fell victim there of some shocking tactics and a very rare very poor ride from Ryan Moore. Back here I expect him to be good and positive on him before winding things up early in the straight to try and draw the sting out of some of his opponents. He’s as tough as they come and is a different league to these in terms of his class. He just wins!

PUPPET MASTER – Curragh

Sat 16 Aug, 16:37

This horse is dropping in class and stepping up in trip having contested the Irish Derby last time. He was a winner at listed level previously in the Lingfield Derby trial earlier this spring, but he also has some decent runs in good company behind the likes of Delacroix and Wimbledon Hawkeye.

He needs to bounce back from a below part effort last time, but I fully expect he will, and connections will have him spot on for this. If there was a concern for me it would probably be if the ground was rattling quick, but racecourses over here don't tend be as fussy when it comes applying water and won't let things get out of hand. He should be very difficult to beat.

VON KROLOCK – Curragh

Sat 16 Aug, 17:45

This horse hails from the Tim Doyle yard and he turns up here on the back of a very promising run in Naas last time, where he finished second only beaten three quarters of a length. He ran really well in this race last season finishing third off an 8lb higher mark. He’s been slowly coming to the boil so far this season and looks like he’s about ready to strike.

He would probably appreciate a bit of softer ground ideally, but he has coped perfectly well with these ground conditions before, and I expect him to do so again. He looks a certainty of the frame and with a bit of look he could take the spoils.
