Royal Ascot Wednesday Tips – Irish NH Tips
This horse was a good winner of an Irish Derby as a three-year-old and is a really consistent performer at ten or twelve furlongs. He’s very uncomplicated and he likes to bounce out handy and dictate things or sit very close to the pace over this sort of trip. He is as tough as old boots in the heat of battle.
He is two from two this season and toughed out the win last time at the Curragh beating his nearest market rival here in the process. I fancy him to uphold that form. He’s sure to give a good account of himself and won’t be far away.
This horse is on the upgrade at a rapid rate since he got touched off at Cork on debut. He’s won his next two since and his yard is in flying form with winners at almost every flat meeting in Ireland at the moment. They have really hit the ground running this season.
For me at least, he brings the highest level of form, and I feel the 9/2 available is value. The draw could have been kinder to him with higher numbers normally favoured on the straight course at Ascot, but he should have enough talent to overcome any biases and get the job done.
This filly made a very pleasing debut in a small field at Naas last month when she chased the highly touted Charles Darwin. She raced green and was a bit keen, but she showed she has bundles of ability and it was no mean feat to go into that kind of race against the boys on debut and come out of it with your reputation enhanced. She's a beautiful looking filly by St Marks Basilica who looks sure to improve, and if she can handle the atmosphere of Royal Ascot on only her second start then she looks one who can run a big race at a price.
