Royal Ascot Saturday Tips – Irish NH Tips
This filly comes here off the back of a maiden winner on debut at Leopardstown in a race that was won in recent years by Bedtime Story and September, both subsequently went on to win this race. She wasn't the stables first string on the day so I would imagine there will be lots of improvement from then to now.
It was a small field so the doubt is how good of a race it was on the day but, when you're dealing with Aidan O'Brien as with many of these trainers, they are creatures of habit and he clearly has found that race to be a good stepping stone to this race. Not to mention, it produces the right type and with the way his two-year-olds have been performing all week, I would say she could be very difficult to beat.
This horse was last seen running in the Irish 2000 Guineas behind Field Of Gold who ran out an impressive winner here a couple of days ago. Before that he was a very close second behind French 2000 Guineas winner Henri Matisse in a Group 3 at Leopardstown, which was another very decent run. He takes a marked drop in class here and for me he's the clear form choice in the field. The drop back to a stiff seven furlongs looks sure to suit and if he runs his race, he will be very difficult to beat. I'm expecting a very big run.
This horse makes his stable debut for Joseph O'Brien here having previously been stabled with Jim Bolger. He was a good maiden winner at the Curragh in March before backing that up with a very good third behind Serious Contender at Leopardstown in a handicap off a mark of 88. He runs here off a two pounds higher mark, and I see that to be a mark he can very much make his presence felt off.
The draw could have been kinder, but I see no reason why he shouldn't be capable of making his presence felt. I'll be disappointed if he doesn't give a very good account of himself and if things fall right on the day, he could get the lot.
