Royal Ascot Saturday Tips – Dan James Racing
The final day is here, and it’s been a cracking week so far. We’ve seen monster fields, tight finishes, and some top-class winners and there’s still serious profit to be made before the curtain comes down.
Today’s card is stacked with angles with Group 1 action in the Jubilee, big-field handicaps like the Wokingham, and a few hot juveniles in the Chesham to kick things off.
A €1.8m Frankel colt representing Godolphin, he created a serious impression on debut, cruising clear in a maiden that’s already working out well. He travelled like a machine that day and quickened with real class, suggesting a listed contest like this is well within range.
Connections are bullish, and with the pedigree, profile and turn of foot, this looks a point and shoot job. Fitness, ground, and track all in his favour means he should go off favourite and win like one.
He produced a devastating display to win the Sandy Lane, making top-class sprinters look average with a clean break and dominant run. That was no fluke, he’s improving fast, and he’s already proven he loves a straight track. A high cruising speed and lethal kick make him a massive threat here, and his draw looks perfect to track the pace. If he repeats his Haydock run, this is another Group 1 in waiting. Pure class with more to come.
With Kalpana withdrawn, this opens up a bit more than the market suggests, and Palladium looks a proper each way chance at double figure odds.
A horse that’s always shaped like a strong stayer, he’s been brought along quietly and looked better than the bare result last time in a muddling race. The ground and trip are ideal, and the Gosden's don’t tilt at these races without purpose.
Ryan Moore is booked, and he should be finishing strongly down the outside. Dangerous to rule out if this turns into a stamina test late and good chance at a price.
