Royal Ascot Friday Tips – Dan James Racing
We’re into Friday and momentum is building heading into the weekend. Big fields, classy Group 1s, and some red-hot betting angles on the card.
The Commonwealth Cup takes centre stage – a proper sprint clash loaded with talent – while the Coronation Stakes brings the classic fillies together for a mouthwatering rematch.
We’ve been building nicely all week and today looks like another strong opportunity to land some serious profit.
A formidable juvenile sprinter, and the favourite after winning both the Middle Park and Dewhurst at two-years-old. Dropped back from a solid Guineas effort in which he looked the winner to late on, this return to a stiff 6f sprint is spot on. Shadow is in top class form and fitness assured, he should be too good for this field.
Awarded the French 1,000 Guineas, she finished like a train and has Group 1 experience with a potent turn-of-foot over 7f+. Fast ground and a forward racing style strongly suit her chances in a rematch with classic fillies, and she will power through late to beat this field.
Big Mojo isn’t the headline act, but he shapes as one of the more progressive and robust contenders in this sprint. A clear case for each‑way support, proven at Ascot, with Group level form, and priced for value. If the fractions are strong and Hollie Doyle times it right, he’s one to watch closely down the straight.
