We last saw this Jimmy Mangan inmate at Kempton over Christmas in the King George where he simply didn't fire. I'm willing to put a line through that run and give him another chance here. His form at the end of last season was very good and he backed that up when he kicked off his season in open company by splitting Fact To File and Galopin Des Champs in the John Durkan at Punchestown at the end of November.

To say that form has been franked since would be an understatement. As well as the two aforementioned stars of the game, he also had Fastorslow and the eventual Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Inothewayurthinkin behind him that day also. He jumps and travels really well and this track suits him. I have every confidence he's got the talent to win this and the temperament to match. He should take a lot of beating.

This lightly raced son of Jeremy landed the spoils in this very race last season off an 8lb lower mark, and he returns here to a track that suits him oh so well to try and repeat the treat again this time around. He's ran good races in defeat on his three starts since, just fading late having travelled well in the Galway Plate, before just getting collared jumping the last in the Paddy Power at Cheltenham in November.

The drop back to two miles seemed to catch him out for toe most recently in the Dan Moore at Fairyhouse in January when he was well fancied in the market. He is back to a course and distance he relishes and arriving here fresh, he must have a major chance and is well worth a bet.

This horse is a very well handicapped horse both on the flat and over jumps on his day but is always a hostage to fortune with hold up tactics the choice of his yard with many of their runners. He was a very good winner of a handicap hurdle at Cheltenham in November over two miles five furlongs in a race that's thrown up plenty of winners. Since then, he has both stepped up to three miles and back to two miles since but back at the intermediate trip here, and his yard in flying form of late, he looks primed for a big run and the booking of James Smith to take the ride is a shrewd move.

I suspect he won't be far away and whatever price he is at the off this race, I'm sure much bigger will be available early in the day there will be plenty of money knocking around for this one.
