Premier League: Gameweek 8 – Copybet

The Premier League resumes this weekend following the international break and the standout match will come at Anfield on Sunday when Liverpool host Manchester United.

Nottingham Forest vs Chelsea

Sat 18 Oct, 12:30

Ange Postecoglou is yet to taste victory in his first seven games in charge of Nottingham Forest and defeat at home to Chelsea on Saturday could spell the end of his short time at the City Ground.

The Tricky Trees have lost both home matches under the former Tottenham boss, going down 1-0 to Sunderland in the league and then losing 3-2 to Midtjylland in the League Phase of the Europa League.

A porous defence has been a real concern for Postecoglou, who has seen his side concede at least twice in five of his seven games at the helm, and life is unlikely to get any better when Chelsea visit.

Enzo Maresca's troops signed off before the international with a last-gasp 2-1 victory over Liverpool, making it three wins from their last four fixtures in all competitions.

The Blues have won on their last two trips to the City Ground and they should have enough attacking quality in their ranks to get the better of a struggling Forest side.

Burnley vs Leeds

Sat 18 Oct, 15:00

Burnley and Leeds both earned promotion from the Championship last season but they have made differing starts to the campaign, with the Clarets in the relegation zone on four points and the Whites four points better off in 15th place.

However, Burnley could boost their tally with a crucial victory at Turf Moor, where all their points have come this term courtesy of a 2-0 victory over Sunderland and a 1-1 draw against Forest.

Scott Parker's side put in a valiant performance to lose just 1-0 at home to Liverpool and the Lancashire outfit may just have enough to edge past a Leeds team who have just one win in their last seven in all competitions.

Daniel Farke's visitors have lost at Arsenal, Sheffield Wednesday and Fulham this season, and they could be in for more disappointment on their travels on Saturday.

Liverpool vs Manchester United

Sun 19 Oct, 16:30

Starting the season with seven wins in a row, it seemed like a case of who could stop Liverpool, but three successive defeats in all competitions has brought the Reds back down to earth with a bang.

Arne Slot's side have suffered 2-1 league losses to both Crystal Palace and Chelsea, either side of a 1-0 Champions League defeat at the hands of Galatasaray.

Liverpool have issues to fix and they may not be able to do that at home to Manchester United, who have won two of their last three top-flight matches.

The Red Devils overcame Sunderland 2-0 before the international break and they head to Anfield aiming to win two league games in a row for the first time since Ruben Amorim took charge.

United have avoided defeat on their last two trips to Anfield and the visitors may be able to come away with a positive result from this contest.
