Rocket Classic Predictions – Copybet
The PGA Tour action continues to come thick and fast with this week's offering taking place at Detroit Golf Club in Michigan with the seventh edition of the Rocket Classic.
Formerly known as the Rocket Mortgage Classic, this tournament has turned out to be a birdie-fest with the winning score having been -18 or better and every player in the field knows they will need to go low to stand any chance of success.
Tip 1: Making birdies is the aim of the game this week and Englishman Harry Hall has done that better than anybody on the PGA Tour this season, as he leads in this department with 263.
One area of the 27-year-old's game that has been really sharp is his putting. He is first in overall putting average and putts per round and second in strokes gained putting.
Such confidence on the greens bodes well ahead of this trip to Michigan and his form heading into the event is also positive, with his last five starts producing results of T20-T19-T6-T24-T9.
Tip 2: Another player enjoying a positive season is Ben Griffin, who has won twice on the PGA Tour this year and is currently eighth in the qualification standings for the USA's Ryder Cup team for the event at Bethpage Black in September.
The 29-year-old partnered Andrew Novak to Zurich Classic of New Orleans success in April before finishing tied-eighth at the PGA Championship the following month, his best Major performance.
A victory at the Charles Schwab followed and the American has kept the momentum going, posting a runner-up effort at The Memorial, a tied-10th at the US Open and a T14 last time out at the Travelers Championship.
Griffin's confidence is high as he chases down a Ryder Cup spot and he looks to have every chance of being in contention for the title at Detroit Golf Club come Sunday.
Tip 3: While a second Ryder Cup appearance looks unlikely for Swedish ace Alex Noren this year, there have been enough positives from his performances to suggest a maiden PGA Tour title could be forthcoming.
The 42-year-old has had a limited playing schedule but he has shown up well during those few efforts, notably finishing tied-17th at the PGA Championship, after sitting second heading into the final round.
With one top-five and a top-10 finish from four Rocket Classic appearances, Noren has shown an affection for this course and he looks a dangerous contender at big odds.
