Newmarket July Festival Friday Tips – Irish NH Tips
This filly has had just two starts so far this season and has been highly tried as a two-year-old last season and again this season when she contested the Irish 1000 Guineas at the Curragh. That was her first start of the season, and she seemed to need that return to action. She was much better recently when finishing a close third in the Coronation at Royal Ascot where she came from well off the pace.
She should be at the peak of her powers now and this looks as weak a Group 1 as she has contested so far in her career. I can see her being a class apart from these and he is helped by the weight for age allowance that she gets from her main market rivals. I expect her to be very hard to beat.
This horse was hotly fancied for a competitive Royal Ascot handicap last month before ultimately fading late on to finish out of the frame. That was over a mile and the step down a furlong in trip to seven furlongs is a big positive for this horse.
He’s a son of Frankel so it's easy to see why they were so keen to step him up in trip and I am sure he will get a mile, and maybe a bit further, in time but he's still learning on the job. When he is a bit more streetwise, they will probably step back up in trip again, but this looks an ideal opportunity for him to put Ascot behind him and get his head.
This is another horse who has been to Royal Ascot in the last couple of weeks and acquitted himself really well. He’s a five-time winner to date and already is better treated than his all-weather mark.
He runs off a mark of 88 and that to me looks well within his compass. With thirteen races under his belt, he has enough experience to make his presence felt here. If he puts his best foot forward here, he won't be far away.
