More Thunder

The William Haggas-trained MORE THUNDER clinched an unlikely win on the Newmarket Rowley Mile Course in May, finishing strongly to claim the spoils that day.

A repeat of that victory almost came at Royal Ascot in the Wokingham when the four-year-old made up ground late on to lose out by just a head to George Baker’s Get It, who was supplementing his success in last season’s Stewards’ Cup.

More Thunder should be able to handle his latest 3lb rise and pick up a win at racing headquarters.

Italy

The Group 2 Superlative Stakes has been a happy hunting ground for trainer Aidan O’Brien, who won this race for the fourth time in 2023 with City Of Troy, and he could have another winner on his hands in the shape of ITALY.

Italy was a Leopardstown maiden winner last time out, scoring over seven furlongs, and that form looks solid with runner-up Thesecretadversary since going on to finish second again in the Listed Chesham Stakes at Royal Ascot.

LONG SHOT:

Newmarket –
Secret Theory

BET NOW

One of three Godolphin runners in the field, SECRET THEORY is going in somewhat under the radar and gets the nod to claim the spoils.

Secret Theory lost for the first time in three starts when fifth at Goodwood in May, but that form has worked out well with the winner, Amiloc, going on to win the Listed Cocked Hat Stakes over 1m3f at the same venue and the Group 2 King Edward VII Stakes at Royal Ascot.

Having been gelded since, the Charlie Appleby-trained Secret Theory has been given an opening mark of 97 and looks like a fair one.

If able to rediscover the form that delivered victories at Newmarket last year and at Nottingham in April this year, Secret Theory should have every chance of tasting success for the third time.
