Liverpool vs Burnley

Liverpool will be looking to bounce back from last weekend’s disappointing defeat at Arsenal. There is no better place to do that than at Anfield. The Reds are unbeaten in 18 fixtures on home soil across all competitions this season winning 16. Jürgen Klopp has seen his team score 56 goals and only concede 15 in those fixtures. They have scored three or more times on 13 occasions and that will be far too strong for this struggling Burnley outfit.

The Clarets have already shipped 47 goals this term, only Sheffield United have conceded more. Suffering defeats on visits to the remainder of the top four, Man City, Arsenal and Aston Villa. Liverpool have won the last four meetings between the two sides without conceding a goal.

QPR vs Norwich City

Last time at home QPR needed a last gasp Kenneth Paal goal to rescue a point against relegation rivals Huddersfield. They have now won only one of their last six at Loftus Road and remain in the relegation zone, three points from safety. The R’s have already played Norwich twice this season and lost 1-0 on both occasions including in the League Cup tie here in August.

The Canaries are arguably in their best form of the season with last weekend’s 2-1 defeat of Coventry keeping them well in the play-off hunt. A tally of 10 points from their last five games against Southampton, Hull, West Brom, Leeds and the Sky Blues is a healthy return with those clubs no lower than 7th in the table. The Norfolk side haven’t lost to Rangers since 2018 and can continue their dominance here.

Southampton vs Huddersfeld Town

Saints were a selection for us last week and duly obliged by cruising past Rotherham, having 74% of the ball and firing seven shots on target in a 2-0 win. That saw Russell Martin’s men extend their unbeaten run to 23 matches and in doing so move up into the automatic promotion places. They take on another relegation struggler here in Huddersfield.

The Terriers sacked Darren Moore and then promptly hammered Sheffield Wednesday 4-0. That win keeps them out of the drop zone, but this represents a totally different task and is a case of damage limitation.

Watford vs Leicester City

Another side that done the business for us last week makes a swift return. Leicester was imperious in battering Stoke 5-0 away from home and now enjoy an 11-point lead at the top of the Championship. It’s now one defeat in 16 games across all competitions winning 12 of those. A sequence that started with a 2-0 win in the reverse fixture.

Whilst the Foxes were blowing their opponents away the Hornets suffered a disappointing defeat at home to Cardiff and have only tasted success once in their last six outings. Leicester also dominates the recent meetings winning each of the last four by an aggregate of 15-4.

Wrexham vs Bradford City

Backers of Wrexham to win the title will be getting a little frustrated with their form on the road. A 3-1 defeat at League Two strugglers Salford was another away day to forget and made it three defeats on the spin away from home.

The Red Dragons sit fourth in table, six points off the top but with a game in-hand so they are still well in the title race. They look a big price given their form at the Racecourse Ground. An opening day defeat to the MK Dons remains their only one and Phil Parkinson’s side are on a current run of eight successive home victories.

They should have too much for a Bradford side without a win in eight league games. There should be a lot of firepower on display between the two sides and if this becomes a shoot-out there can be only one winner.
