England (Wom) vs Spain (Wom) 12/5 Bet Builder – Tipster Wizard
The Lionesses' defence of their European crown continues as they face World Champions Spain in the final, and Tipster Wizard has created a Showcase Bet Builder for the big game!
The last nine head-to-head games between Spain and England have gone under 3.5 goals as meetings between these sides are generally very tight and competitive. The last time they played in a final against each other was in the 2023 World Cup where it ended 1-0 to the Spanish side in a very tight and cagey affair.
Considering the occasion, I expect both teams to be slightly more cautious and not let the opposition have too many clear-cut opportunities. Spain have seen two and zero goals inside 90 minutes in their two knockout games so far this campaign and I expect another low scoring clash here.
With four wins and a draw, Spain have looked like the tournament's best side so far and have quality players all over the pitch including Ballon D'or winner, Bonmati, who scored a brilliant goal in extra time against Germany to book Spain's spot for the final.
Despite England's firepower, they have looked very vulnerable in defence conceding two goals against Sweden in the quarterfinal, and conceding against Italy in the semifinal before a 95th minute equaliser saved them. Expect the Spanish side to at least get a draw inside 90 minutes.
Both Spain and England have had at least one player booked in both the quarterfinal and the semifinal. England have seen a player booked in the 2nd half of both the knockout games so far and with such high stakes involved, I expect aggressive tackles in the second half if one team is ahead.
That could also lead to some time wasting from the team leading and potentially some cynical fouls. Although this has been a tournament for low card counts, expect that to change in the final, especially in the final 45 minutes.
