Kairat Almaty vs Celtic

Tue 26 Aug, 17:45

Celtic were held to a goalless draw in Glasgow last week, with Kazakh underdogs Kairat Almaty good value for the against-the-odds result, and now they have a big chance to make good use of their home advantage.

The Bhoys face a lengthy round trip ahead of their Old Firm clash at the weekend, and they head to Kazakhstan without a European away victory since 2021.

Tuesday’s hosts, who limited Celtic to just 0.56 expected goals in the first leg, have won all three of their home Champions League qualifiers this season and have only lost four of their last 29 home games in Europe.

Club Brugge vs Rangers

Wed 27 Aug, 20:00

Club Brugge flew out of the traps to go 3-0 up inside the first 20 minutes at Ibrox last week, and they can finish the job back on home soil on Wednesday.

Their 3-1 win in Glasgow made it five successive victories for the Belgian side, and they are favourites to add to Rangers’ misery this week.

The Gers have only won three of their eight competitive games this season and haven’t won away from home since March.

Russell Martin’s side have, however, scored in all eight outings this season, extending their scoring streak to 13 matches, so they should at least find the net in Belgium.

Qarabag FK vs Ferencvarosi TC

Wed 27 Aug, 17:45

Qarabag head into the second leg of this tie with a 3-1 aggregate lead, but they were fortunate to claim that result in Hungary, and they will be in no rush to push forward as they look to hang onto their lead.

Ferencvarosi generated more expected goals and won the shot count in the first leg, and the Hungarians have often performed better away from home in Europe.

Four of their last five Champions League losses have come on home soil, while they have only lost one of their last eight on the road in this competition.

A comeback may be beyond Ferencvarosi, but they should be good value to at least avoid defeat against a home side that will not be keen to open the game up too much.
