World Cup Qualifying Play-Off Semi-Finals – Copybet
Twelve European teams have sealed spots at the World Cup but there are four more places up for grabs as 16 nations, including Wales, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, get ready for a short and intense play-off campaign.
All of the teams are just two wins away from claiming a place at the global gathering and there is the possibility of Wales and Northern Ireland facing each other in the Path A final.
However, although Wales are favourites to win their semi-final at home to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Northern Ireland are rank outsiders to defeat Italy in Bergamo, while the Republic of Ireland's challenge begins with a tough test against the Czech Republic.
Czech Republic vs Republic of Ireland
The Republic of Ireland squeezed into the play-offs with a dramatic 3-2 victory away to Hungary, but they have been done no favours by the draw and may struggle to avoid elimination against the Czech Republic in Prague.
The Boys in Green approached the final stages against Hungary with nothing to lose and finished the contest in dreamland after Troy Parrott's hat-trick.
However, they were beaten by Armenia (2-1) and Portugal (1-0) on previous road trips and may struggle to cope with the Czechs, who are determined to reach a World Cup for the first time since 2006.
The Czech Republic gathered 10 points from four home qualifiers and they can advance to next Tuesday's Path D final.
Slovakia vs Kosovo
Slovakia finished a reasonably strong second to Germany in qualifying Group A and they look a solid selection to see off Kosovo in Bratislava.
The Slovaks triumphed in four of six qualifiers, including an eye-catching 2-0 triumph at home to Germany last September.
They are used to winning on home soil and can get the better of a Kosovo side weakened by the absence of injured Napoli defender Amir Rrahmani.
Ukraine vs Sweden
Sweden have a few questions to answer after taking just two points in qualifying Group B, but they have plenty of scope to improve and can defeat Ukraine on neutral soil at Estadi Ciutat de Valencia.
Graham Potter lost his first two matches as Sweden's head coach but he has had all winter to work out how to get the best out of a hugely talented squad.
The Swedes have a lot of potential and can find enough improvement to overcome Ukraine, who are missing key injured striker Artem Dovbyk.
Wales vs Bosnia and Herzegovina
Wales responded to a pressure situation by winning 7-1 at home to North Macedonia in their final match of qualifying Group J and they can edge a step closer to the World Cup by defeating Bosnia at the Cardiff City Stadium.
Craig Bellamy's side relish playing on home soil and their free-flowing football may be too much for Bosnia, who were runners-up to Austria in Group H.
