This son of Flemensfirth is a half-brother to some very smart type including both Limerick Lace and Inothewayurthinkin who were winners at the Cheltenham Festival last week, so we know he comes from a strong pedigree. He made his debut in a bumper at Leopardstown over Christmas going down by two lengths and had subsequent bumper winner Cantico in behind that day.

With that experience under his belt, I'm sure he will be much more streetwise today. If he's progressed and there's no reason to think he won't, he sets a very high bar for those in opposition to try beat and isn't for opposing.

This lad created a very favourable impression at Leopardstown early this month when winning a maiden hurdle by no less than 27 lengths. Now while the winning distance may have been exaggerated due to the top two in the betting taking each other on from an early stage I don't think there was any fluke about the performance, and it took a hell of a long time to pull him up after the line.

He's a brilliant jumper so this step up in class albeit in a better race should be taken in his stride. The testing ground and a big galloping track should both play to his strengths and I'm really looking forward to how good this guy could be in the future.

Broke his duck over fences last time when winning a very competitive handicap at Naas after a couple of very solid runs in beginners chases. He jumped and travelled well throughout before hitting the front at the last and powering up the run in.

The handicapper has since put him up 11lbs for that win, but I don't see that stopping him from making it two on the spin!
