NAP:

Bangor – CHARLIE’S GLANCE

Andrew Martin’s fragile but talented type returned from over a year on the sidelines when finishing a fair third over hurdles at the start of the month and remains open to improvement over fences after just two career starts in this sphere.

He will appreciate the ground conditions drying up from soft, heavy in places earlier in the week (expected to be good to soft with the forecast dry on Saturday), and regular claiming rider James Martin knows him well.

NEXT BEST:

Bangor – NO TACKLE

Robbie Llewellyn’s unexposed chaser is relatively fresh at this belated stage of the jumps season after just four runs through the winter months, and he can take advantage of a drop in class at Bangor on Saturday (with the yard continuing in excellent form/first double in the week).

He impressed when winning on soft ground at Leicester in January (jumping warmed up through a strongly run race), and much more positive tactics at this sharp track could see him to much better effect dropping back down to 2m4f under Liam Harrison.

LONG SHOT:

Bangor – THANK YOU MA’AM

Georgina Nicholls tough and battle-hardened handicapper had been knocking loudly on the door until struggling in deep ground at Sandown last time out (sent off 33/1 in a warm contest for the grade), and he should appreciate these better conditions round a much sharper track.

Miss Olive Nicholls takes off a very handy 7lb, and a repeat of his previous runner-up effort at Hereford in February would be enough to go very close here in a winnable Class 4 contest.
