Sandown Saturday tips – Copybet

Familiar faces are on show on a competitive card at Sandown on Saturday when the feature Stayers' Veterans' Chase Final is supported by a qualifier for the Middle Distance series.

There are seven races at Sandown from 12:15-15:35 and our expert has provided his top three bets for the day’s action with his NAP coming in the finale.

All In You – Sandown

Sat 03 Jan, 15:35

Warren Greatrex is enjoying a fine run and has already equalled last season’s tally of winners with a good portion to go, with his 30 winners coming at a fine strike-rate of 27 percent.

He kicked off 2026 with a winner at Cheltenham on New Year’s Day courtesy of Herakles Westwood and his best chance of continuing his good form om Saturday is ALL IN YOU, who tackles the closing 2m handicap hurdle at Sandown.

He was a huge eyecatcher on his stable debut for Greatrex at Ascot last time, finishing strongly from an unpromising position to be beaten just a head by Dance And Glance, who reopposes. In third was the Dan Skelton-trained Let It Rain, who I think is well handicapped and was well backed on the day.

All In You ran the final three furlongs 0.81 seconds (four lengths) quicker than the winner, despite having his momentum halted by a mistake at the last, and the way he hit the line suggested he should relish the testing nature of Sandown's track, especially the hill on the run-in. He looks like a winner in waiting.

Nurse Susan – Sandown

Sat 03 Jan, 14:25

The Paul Nicholls-trained Jubilee Alpha will no doubt prove popular in the Listed Mares’ Hurdle, given she has won two of her three races in this class and is well off with a few of these at the weights under a 2lb penalty.

She has bettered her career-best Racing Post Rating this season despite being beaten carrying top weight in handicaps – she may have won on reappearance had it not been for a bad mistake two-out – and sets the standard, but she took a backward step when well beaten in a Cheltenham handicap hurdle last time, not finishing her race off particularly strongly.

That race was won by NURSE SUSAN, who hasn't seen too much of the track in recent years but looked as good as ever, landing the same Cheltenham handicap she won two years earlier, with Jubilee Alpha more than seven lengths behind.

She’s 12lb worse off with that rival now, but she was well on top at the finish that day and, given she’s lightly raced for her age, she could well find the necessary improvement to topple the favourite for Dan Skelton.

Digby – Sandown

Sat 03 Jan, 15:05

This has likely been the plan for Dan Skelton’s Le Milos, who has dropped to the same mark as when comfortably landing a qualifier for this final at Fakenham in May and has a good record at Sandown.

However, much of his best recent form has come in cheekpieces and that headgear is left off once again, so it looks worth taking him on with Irish raider DIGBY, who has cheekpieces added to a tongue-tie.

Digby showed great form in Britain last season, comfortably seeing off Konfusion, who has won three of his next four and is now rated 30lb higher, at Bangor in April before losing out by a neck in the Summer Cup at Uttoxeter in June.

Those performances coincided with the refitting of cheekpieces, which is a positive, and he’s now dropped to the same mark as when narrowly beaten by a subsequent winner at Uttoxeter. He could well outrun his odds.
