Premier League Game Week 26 football tips and predictions – Copybet
Before the FA Cup fourth-round fixtures this weekend we have a full midweek Premier League programme to enjoy, with four games on Tuesday, five on Wednesday and a London derby between Brentford and leaders Arsenal on Thursday.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Newcastle United
Tottenham have slipped to 15th in the Premier League standings after Saturday's 2-0 defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford, but they are an attractive price for a home win over Newcastle United on Tuesday.
Spurs had been on a four-game unbeaten run before that match, but they faced an uphill task to extend that record against the Red Devils after the 29th-minute dismissal of captain Cristian Romero.
Thomas Frank's team have beaten Borussia Dortmund 2-0 and rallied to draw 2-2 with Manchester City in their last two home matches and they picked up a point at St James' Park when they last faced Newcastle in December.
The Magpies have lost four of their last five games, conceding 10 goals in their last three defeats to Liverpool, Manchester City and Brentford, and they look opposable as favourites on the road.
Aston Villa vs Brighton and Hove Albion
Aston Villa are still third in the Premier League standings despite taking only one point from their last two games and they can get back to winning ways at home to Brighton and Hove Albion on Wednesday.
Villa let a 1-0 lead slip at Bournemouth on Saturday after a frustrating 1-0 home defeat to 10-man Brentford in their previous match, but they had won 16 of their previous 19 games and are a decent price to see off Brighton, who have fallen to 14th in the table.
Albion have hit a rough patch with only two wins in their last 13 league and cup games and their only top-flight success since November came at home to struggling Burnley.
Sunderland vs Liverpool
If there is to be an upset among the midweek fixtures it may come at the Stadium of Light, where Sunderland entertain Liverpool on Wednesday.
Arne Slot's Reds suffered another setback when losing 2-1 at home to Manchester City on Sunday and will now be without key man Dominik Szoboszlai for their trip to Wearside after his late red card against City.
The Black Cats are unbeaten in 12 home Premier League games this season, beating Crystal Palace and Burnley in their last two assignments in front of their own fans and the ninth-placed side are worthy of a draw-no-bet wager against Liverpool.
Brentford vs Arsenal
Arsenal have responded to their 3-2 home defeat by Manchester United by winning their last four games, scoring 11 goals in the process and they can extend their winning streak with a victory over Brentford in the only Premier League game on Thursday night.
The Gunners have won on their last four visits to the Gtech Community Stadium and won 2-0 in a midweek league meeting with the Bees at the Emirates in December.
Brentford are coming off back-to-back away wins at Aston Villa and Newcastle, but lost 2-0 to Nottingham Forest in their last home fixture and should find the leaders too hot to handle.
