Brentford vs Newcastle
Brentford are outperforming pre-season expectations this term and the Bees can continue to carry a string when Newcastle head for West London on Sunday.
Manager Thomas Frank left Brentford in the summer, alongside key players Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa, but new coach Keith Andrews has done an excellent job steering a progressive and exciting team.
The Bees have won four of their last six matches, the West Londoners have beaten Liverpool, Manchester United, Bournemouth and Aston Villa this season, and Andrew’s side looks to have been underrated by the market.
Newcastle were awful in a 3-1 loss at struggling West Ham on their most recent Premier League road trip and the Magpies have failed to win any of their five top-flight away games.
Eddie Howe’s squad is likely to be stretched by their Champions League commitments, and while the Toon Army were in good form when beating Athletic Bilbao 2-0 in midweek, Brentford looks like the best bet on this weekend’s Premier League card.
Crystal Palace vs Brighton
Oliver Glasner is a superb manager who has worked wonders with Crystal Palace, but the Eagles could be vulnerable to rivals Brighton on Sunday.
The South Londoners squad hardly looks big enough to compete in the Premier League, never mind the demands of the Conference League, but Glasner and the Palace players continue to churn out the results.
However, the Eagles do look too short at home to Brighton in this spot.
The Seagulls have lost only two of their last eight games, the south coast outfit hammered Leeds United 3-0 last weekend and Fabian Hurzeler’s men are the Premier League’s fifth-best-performing side on expected goals figures.
The 2/1 on offer about a Brighton victory at Selhurst Park and that looks a little too big.
Manchester City vs Liverpool
Manchester City and Liverpool do battle at the Etihad in the Premier League's showpiece fixture on Sunday.
City have certainly looked back to near their best, in terms of attack, in recent weeks, with the Citizens scoring 11 goals in their last five matches. However, they conceded five shots on target to Bournemouth last weekend, and defending remains a concern.
Liverpool have recorded back-to-back wins over Aston Villa and Real Madrid to end their recent slump, but it’s still five losses in eight games for the Reds and Arne Slot’s side have conceded 18 goals in their last 12 games.
Taking over 3.5 goals looks the best way to play the Etihad action, as the Game Week 11 of the Premier League season should sign off with an entertaining contest.
