Premier League Darts Week Three darts betting tips and predictions – Copybet
Premier League Darts is set for a lively atmosphere as week three takes the PDC’s eight stars for a night of action in Glasgow.
Luke Littler is yet to collect a nightly Premier League victory, but the Nuke will be aiming for points when the competition heads for Scotland on Thursday.
Stephen Bunting vs Gian van Veen
Stephen Bunting lost 12 of his 16 Premier League quarter-finals last term and this campaign hasn’t started much better.
The Bullet lost six straight legs when going down 6-2 to Michael van Gerwen in his opening Newcastle contest before blowing a 4-1 lead to lose 6-4 to Jonny Clayton in Antwerp last time out.
Gian van Veen continues to impress and the World Championship runner-up has already beaten Clayton and Luke Littler in the Premier League this term.
The Giant went down 6-5 to Gerwyn Price last week, but there wasn’t too much wrong with that performance and he can dodge the Bullet in Glasgow.
Luke Humphries vs Josh Rock
Luke Humphries collected his first Pro Tour title of the season when winning the Players Championship 4 event on Tuesday and Cool Hand appears to be operating at the peak of his powers.
The former World Champion only narrowly lost the World Masters final to Luke Littler earlier this month and his performance levels have been consistently high.
Humphries has averaged 101.07 across his 10 Pro Tour matches this term and if he can maintain that form, it could be a hard night for Josh Rock in Glasgow.
Rocky has lost his two quarter-finals in this season’s Premier League and last week’s 6-2 defeat to Michael van Gerwen was an alarming one.
The Antrim ace averaged just 79.34 in Antwerp, and this week’s pair of Players Championship events, which have often seen Rocky at his best, yielded only three victories.
At decent odds, it could pay to take a punt on a runaway Cool Hand success.
Michael van Gerwen vs Luke Littler
Michael van Gerwen downed Luke Littler 6-4 in the Premier League semi-finals in Antwerp last Thursday and there could be a repeat MVG success in Glasgow.
Of course, a peak Nuke can blow any arrowsmith away, but the 19-year-old averaged 95.18 in defeat to Mighty Mike last week and it was 96.98 when losing 6-4 to Gian van Veen on night one in Newcastle.
Those are not terrible numbers, by any means, but in short-format matches, they can leave Littler vulnerable.
Van Gerwen took maximum points in Newcastle in week one before making the final in Antwerp, while he also won the opening World Series event of the campaign in Saudi Arabia last month.
MVG has recorded numbers of 96.35 across 11 games on the Pro Tour this term and the Green Machine has been consistently good enough to trouble Littler in Glasgow.
