Premier League Darts Week Seven darts betting tips and predictions – Copybet
Premier League Darts arrives in Dublin on Thursday as the chasing pack hunt down table-topper Jonny Clayton.
The Welshman beat Luke Humphries in Nottingham last week to record his second nightly win of the season and they'll clash again in a mouthwatering quarter-final at the 3Arena in the Irish capital.
Gian van Veen vs Michael van Gerwen
The all-Dutch collision of Gian van Veen and Michael van Gerwen opens the evening in Dublin and a win for the Green Machine would be quite a fitting start in Ireland, coming just a couple of days after the St Patrick's Day celebrations.
MVG has won four of the last six head-to-heads against his compatriot, including the night one final in Newcastle last month.
Van Veen made the final in Belfast but went down 6-2 against Stephen Bunting. He lost a high-quality clash in the UK Open against Rob Cross and was beaten on the European Tour at the weekend by a red-hot Weesel Nijman.
The World Championship runner-up averaged just 89.96 in last week's Premier League defeat to Luke Humphries.
MVG, meanwhile, had a 107.00 average in his weekend European Tour defeat against Niels Zonneveld and he could send van Veen out early in Dublin.
Josh Rock vs Gerwyn Price
Josh Rock hit a fantastic nine-darter on his home turf in Belfast last month but, that aside, the Antrim ace has endured a testing start to his maiden Premier League season.
He's bottom of the table and is the only player yet to win a single match after six nights. Indeed, Rock has only managed three breaks of throw so far.
Gerwyn Price represents a tough quarter-final opponent for Rock in Dublin. The Iceman triumphed in Antwerp on night two as he averaged 104.44 in the final.
He lost 6-5 to Luke Littler last week but again averaged a healthy 101.31, while Rock dropped to 82.88 in his 6-1 loss to Bunting.
Price hit four 180's against the Nuke and had a good weekend on the European Tour as he beat Joe Cullen, Danny Noppert, Dirk van Duijvenbode and Damon Heta before losing to the in-form Nijman.
He should take care of Rock here and can fire in at least a trio of maximums along the way.
Jonny Clayton vs Luke Humphries
The last of the quarter-finals is a repeat of the Nottingham decider between Jonny Clayton and Luke Humphries.
The Ferret won that contest 6-1, taking the early lead and answering a 121 checkout from Cool Hand Luke with a 146 of his own.
Clayton is the table-topper after six weeks and admits the Premier League is his favourite event while Humphries had three ton-plus finishes in Nottingham.
They could turn on the style in Dublin in what looks sure to be a close-run affair with Clayton fancied to record the highest checkout in a high-quality contest.
