My Grand National selection for 2024 is Panda Boy, trained by Martin Brassil.

There are only 34 Runners in this year's Grand National, and our selection gets in as number 31 carrying 10st7lbs off a mark of 146. Last season he ran a cracker to finish 5th in the Irish Grand National at Fairyhouse where he was behind I Am Maximus (4lbs better off), but this season has been all about getting him to Aintree. He was 2nd in the PaddyPower Chase at Leopardstown over Christmas when behind Meetingofthewaters (11lbs better off), and most recently he was 4th over Hurdles at the Dublin Racing Festival when behind Maxxum in preparation for the Spring.

He ticks a lot of trends, being an 8yo off a very competitive handicap rating, and he looks to be a Horse who has stamina for days. If he takes to the fences, he must hold strong claims, and regular rider JJ Slevin takes the reigns.
