FA Cup Third Round football tips and predictions – Copybet
The FA Cup third-round draw has produced some fascinating fixtures with Nottingham Forest travelling to in-form Wrexham and National League side Boreham Wood targeting a place in round four.
Wrexham vs Nottingham Forest
A late penalty from Morgan Gibbs-White earned Nottingham Forest a crucial 2-1 win at Premier League survival rivals West Ham on Tuesday.
However, Forest had to come from behind at the London Stadium and manager Sean Dyche must be concerned that his team conceded the first goal in each of their last five games.
Both teams to score looks a good bet when Forest take on in-form Wrexham in the FA Cup third round.
The Red Dragons have won their last four matches in the Championship, scoring 11 goals, and Forest's most recent trip to Wales ended in a 3-2 EFL Cup defeat at Swansea in September.
Boreham Wood vs Burton Albion
Boreham Wood are flying high in the National League and they look worthy favourites to beat League One strugglers Burton Albion in the FA Cup.
These clubs may well be playing in the same division next season as Burton have slipped into the relegation zone after three straight defeats to nil in League One.
Boreham Wood are just two points behind National League leaders Carlisle, with two games in hand, and they have a formidable home record, losing only twice in 20 matches on their own turf this term.
Portsmouth vs Arsenal
Arsenal are going well in this season's Premier League and Champions League but they are also the most successful club in FA Cup history and should ease past Portsmouth at Fratton Park.
Mikel Arteta will undoubtedly rest some of his stars. However, even a second-string Arsenal side could feature classy performers such as Kai Havertz, Gabriel Jesus, Noni Madueke, Myles Lewis-Skelly, Ethan Nwaneri and Christian Norgaard.
A 2-0 Arsenal win looks like a decent correct-score option as Portsmouth's last eight Championship results include defeats to nil against Sheffield United, Swansea and Bristol City (twice).
Hull City vs Blackburn
Hull City should be backed to come out on top in Sunday's all-Championship cup tie against Blackburn.
Like Portsmouth, Rovers are slipping towards the relegation zone in the second tier and they have won only one of their last 10 league matches.
Blackburn failed to score in three of their last four games while Hull have forced their way into the play-off picture, winning four of their last six matches.
The Tigers lost 3-0 at home to Rovers in August's league meeting but the clubs have been heading in opposite directions since then and Hull can avenge that defeat in the cup.
