FA Cup fifth round football tips and predictions – Copybet

We are down to the final 16 teams in the FA Cup, and five teams outside of the Premier League are still in with a shot at glory.

Defending champions Crystal Palace may already be eliminated but, with Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City still in the running, four of the six most successful sides in the competition remain in with a chance, with this quartet boasting 37 FA Cup wins between them.

Wrexham vs Chelsea

Sat 07 Mar, 17:45

Wrexham may be one of the form sides in the Championship, but an impressive Chelsea team represents a significant step up in quality and Liam Rosenior’s Blues should be far too strong for the Red Dragons.

The 2018 FA Cup champions have won six of their last eight away games, scoring at least three goals in each of these victories, and should create plenty of chances against a Wrexham outfit that have conceded four goals in their last two games at the Racecourse Ground.

Newcastle United vs Manchester City

Sat 07 Mar, 20:00

Newcastle United clinched a much-needed win over Manchester United in midweek, but they have had a disappointing domestic season and will be up against it when they face Manchester City.

The Citizens beat Eddie Howe’s men 2-1 in February - one of two defeats for the Magpies in their last four games - and are unbeaten in 10 games.

Pep Guardiola’s side have reached each of the last three FA Cup finals and should take a step closer to a fourth successive Wembley outing on Saturday.

Fulham vs Southampton

Sun 08 Mar, 12:00

Southampton have put together a strong run of form as they chase promotion to the Premier League, but Craven Cottage has proven a difficult ground to visit of late and that should help Fulham progress to the final eight.

The Cottagers have won five of their last eight in front of their own fans and have already eliminated two second-tier sides from the FA Cup this season, so back them to break Saints’ hearts.

Leeds United vs Norwich City

Sun 08 Mar, 16:30

Leeds United have lost three of their last four home games and required penalties to get past Birmingham City in the last round, so an in-form Norwich City may pose a threat to the Whites’ FA Cup ambitions.

The Canaries have won nine of their last 11 ties and have only lost once in their last eight away fixtures.
