EFL 3/1 Acca – Gab Sutton
Another exciting weekend of EFL action awaits, and expert Gab Sutton has selected three teams to claim victory in this weekend's EFL Acca!
Ipswich to win
Ipswich responded strongly to their 5-3 loss at Wrexham last weekend, with a professional 2-0 victory at Watford, which hinted at some re-organisation from Kieran McKenna’s side.
The Tractor Boys have only conceded 29 goals in the other 31 games, excluding the undoing in North Wales, and Dara O’Shea and Cedric Kipre have generally forged a rock-solid pairing for the Suffolk outfit.
Dan Neil looks a smart addition in midfield, bringing the drive and athleticism to complement the tidy football Azor Matusiwa can offer, while Jack Clarke provides star quality on the left.
Ipswich should beat midtable Swansea, who have suffered defeat in 10 of their 16 road trips.
Stockport to win
Stevenage’s Play-Off bid has faltered since late-autumn, with five wins in 22 for Alex Revell’s side, although one of those victories did come at Saturday's opponents Stockport back in December.
The Boro have a water-tight defensive record, but they probably don’t score enough goals for a serious top six aspirant, notching just 35 times in 32 games; nobody other than 10-goal man Jamie Reid has found the net on more than four occasions in the league.
Stockport will travel to the Lamex as something of a wounded animal, after their midweek 3-0 loss at Burton Albion saw Dave Challinor’s side move 12 points off the top two, and it would take a significant turnaround for the Hatters to take an automatic spot off Cardiff or Lincoln.
County do, though, boast one of the most talented left-sided defenders in Ethan Pye, one of the best playmakers in Oli Norwood, and an attacking trio in Jack Diamond, Kyle Wootton and Isaac Olaofe that can be very dangerous on their day.
Crewe to win
Crewe Alexandra have been among League Two’s form sides in 2026, recharging their Play-Off bid with 21 points from 11 league games, thanks to a 2-1 victory at high-flying Swindon last time out.
Homegrown prospects Calum Agius and Matus Holicek are showing some positive signs for Lee Bell’s side, taking the creative burden off the on-loan Tommi O’Reilly.
Right-back Lewis Billington, another academy graduate, has also come on a lot this year, while veteran Mickey Demetriou is one of the top defenders in the division, helping the Alex onto a run of form that’s got them up to sixth.
Visitors Tranmere, on the other hand, have had a nightmare 2026 so far, with Andy Crosby’s side losing eight of their nine league games.
