Champions League last-16 first legs – Copybet

There are several mouth-watering Champions League Last-16 ties to look forward to, with the first-leg ties taking place across this Tuesday and Wednesday.

All five Premier League teams will be looking to make the quarter-finals, including Manchester City, who face Real Madrid, while defending champions PSG need to improve if they are to stand any chance of repeating the feat.

Galatasaray vs Liverpool

Tue 10 Mar, 17:45

Liverpool head to Istanbul without their first-choice goalkeeper, with Alisson not part of the 21-man Reds travelling squad.

That means Giorgi Mamardashvili will start between the posts and that might see the Premier League side more cautious in their approach.

The two teams met in Turkey in the League Format this season, in a game with few chances that was won by a first-half penalty from Gala’s Victor Oshimen.

Liverpool have won two of their last three Premier League away games 1-0 and they will know a tight game will suit them with the second leg to come at Anfield.

Newcastle vs Barcelona

Tue 10 Mar, 20:00

Another two teams that have already met this season clash at St James’ Park, as Newcastle seek revenge for their defeat to Barcelona.

The Magpies should have been in front in the first-half of the September meeting, but were made to pay for missed chances when Barca ran out 2-1 victors.

Eddie Howe’s men are expected to make a quick start, with a vociferous home crowd behind them, and it’s worth noting that they have scored first in three of their last four games.

Barca conceded an average of 1.75 goals per game during the league format and nine of the 14 goals they let in came in away matches.

Real Madrid vs Manchester City

Wed 11 Mar, 20:00

Manchester City will feel it’s a good time to head to the Bernabeu, as they face a Real Madrid team that has suffered two defeats in their last three La Liga games.

Pep Guardiola’s men have already beaten Real this season and this is now a stronger City team following their January additions.

One of those new faces is Antoine Semenyo, who has been a revelation since his switch from Bournemouth - having scored six goals in 10 appearances for his new club.

The 26-year-old has already shown his quality and has proved that he can raise his game for the big matches.

Bodo/Glimt vs Sporting

Wed 11 Mar, 20:00

The Norwegian champions may have been the story of the competition so far, but they shouldn’t be seen as a surprise package anymore.

Having beaten Inter Milan (twice), Atletico Madrid and Manchester City in their last four Champions League matches, Bodo/Glimt have proven themselves worthy of a place in the last 16.

Their artificial pitch also gives them a big advantage in the home ties and they will feel they have every chance of taking a lead with them for the second leg in Portugal.
