Can anyone stop Sinner at Roland Garros?

World number one Jannik Sinner recently became only the second man in history to complete the Career Golden Masters by winning all nine ATP Masters 1000 events. With the French Open starting this weekend and reigning Champion Carlos Alcaraz out injured, can anyone stop Sinner from claiming his first grand slam title on clay?

Roland Garros

Jannik Sinner has been rewriting the record books of late including becoming the first player to win six straight Masters 1000 titles and surpassing Novak Djokovic’s record for consecutive sets won at Masters 1000 level. It’s safe to say, the Italian has been wholly dominant of late.

Even when considering his main rival Carlos Alcaraz’s recent injury, Sinner’s recent form has truly been exceptional and thus he is the clear favourite to win the French Open outright at 2/7 with CopyBet.

So perhaps a more interesting question is, who can challenge Sinner in Alcaraz’s absence?

The obvious choice for many is Novak Djokovic who beat Sinner in the semi-final of the Australian Open earlier this year and at the age of 38 is perhaps managing his fitness to peak his performance at the four slams. Djokovic is 12/1 with CopyBet to win his fourth French Open title and 25th grand slam (incredible).

A younger candidate to challenge might be Alexander Zverev, who has been at the top of the ‘best of the rest’ group of players for quite some time. The German is 8/1 with CopyBet to win his first ever grand slam and go one better than his 2024 French Open final defeat to Alcaraz.

An outside shot to consider might be Arthur Fils, who is 20/1 with CopyBet to win his first grand slam title. Fils is considered one of the most explosive players on the ATP Tour. His natural athleticism and pure aggression could serve him well in Paris.

Can he or anyone else get in Sinner’s way?
