Best Odds Guaranteed Doncaster horse racing tips – Copybet

Doncaster stages a competitive seven-race jumps card on Saturday, with the highlight being the Grimthorpe Handicap Chase, a Class 2 event over 3m2f.

The action gets under way with a Listed mares’ novices’ hurdle and the quality continues right through the afternoon, including a valuable 2m handicap chase and a 0-145 handicap hurdle.

We’ve provided three best bets from the meeting, including one for in-form trainer Richard Hobson, who looks to enhance his already impressive record at the track.

Mighty Bandit – Doncaster

Sat 28 Feb, 13:55

The Warren Greatrex-trained MIGHTY BANDIT is rocketing up the handicap, but he won with plenty to spare over course and distance last month and looks set to complete a hat-trick.

The six-year-old, who rather lost his way for Gordon Elliott, showed progressive form in staying Flat handicaps for this yard last summer and has translated that improvement to fences.

An excellent second behind subsequent Grade 2 winner Mambonumberfive at odds of 50/1 on his chasing debut at Newbury in November, he proved there was no fluke about that when defeating Highlands Legacy and Lookaway at the same track the following month - both successful in good races since, the latter in last weekend’s feature Ladbrokes Trophy at Kempton.

A smooth eight-length winner here last month, Mighty Bandit is up another 8lb, but remains open to untold further improvement.

Docpickedme – Doncaster

Sat 28 Feb, 16:15

Richard Hobson’s DOCPICKEDME, who finished an admirable fourth behind Dartmoor Pirate when going for back-to-back wins in the Great Yorkshire Chase here last month, reverts to hurdling off a favourable mark.

The 10-year-old has form figures of 1P2114 from his six visits to this track, his last success coming off a mark of 129 in December.

Now rated 130 over fences, he’s only 121 over hurdles and is further aided by Charlie Maggs’ 3lb claim.

Further easing of the ground shouldn’t be an issue and he looks sure to give a good account for a yard that has saddled two winners from its last three runners.

Park Princess – Doncaster

Sat 28 Feb, 13:25

Anthony Honeyball’s PARK PRINCESS is upwards of 4lb clear of her rivals on official figures and yet can be backed at each-way prices in the opener.

The six-year-old was firmly put in her place when seven of nine in the Grade 2 Jane Seymour Mares’ Novices Hurdle at Warwick at the start of the month, but she likely didn’t appreciate the heavy ground on that occasion.

She is better judged on her three previous efforts; a pair of victories at Ludlow and Fontwell either side of an agonising near miss in Listed company at Haydock in December.

Honeyball, who is also represented by rank outsider Easy Love, has a 24 per cent strike-rate with his runners at Doncaster over the last five years (6-25).
