Autumn Internationals. Wales vs South Africa — Copybet

It’s been a dramatic month of Test rugby with the Autumn Internationals and the schedule concludes with a solitary game on Saturday, as Wales face the daunting prospect of facing world champions South Africa in Cardiff.

New Wales head coach Steve Tandy will have a much clearer idea of the scale of the task that lies ahead of the 2026 Six Nations, following heavy defeats to Argentina and New Zealand, with a narrow win over Japan sandwiched between.

In contrast, South Africa are going in search of a clean sweep this month after wins over France, Italy and Ireland.

Given where these two sides are at in their development, a one-sided affair might well be on the cards at the Principality on Saturday.

South Africa will look to put the cherry on top of their impressive Autumn Nation Series with a comprehensive victory over the Welsh.

Winning all of their last three games against Wales in Cardiff, the Principality will hold some fond memories for this crop of South African stars.

The last time these sides met was in November last year and South Africa ran out 45-12 winners against Warren Gatland’s side.

Tandy cannot be expected to work miracles with the players at his disposal and it’s going to be hard to see Wales keeping this one tight, especially after conceding 52 points to both Argentina and the All Blacks earlier this month.

With that in mind, the Springboks with the sizable -40.5 handicap looks achievable and gets the green light for the first selection.

The last two times these sides have crossed paths, South Africa have undoubtedly been the dominant force.

Winning 52-16 and 45-12 in their last two meetings in Cardiff, the Boks are expected to cruise to victory in the Welsh capital again on Saturday.

However, one trend from those two games between these nations at the Principality was that Wales were the ones to score the last points in both of those matches with late tries.

With the result likely to be settled long before the last five minutes of the contest, with the Boks likely to be well clear, Wales might well rally again to score a late try.

While this current Wales squad might lack quality, their commitment cannot be questioned and, especially in Cardiff, the hosts will play right up to the final whistle.

With that trend in mind, the 15/4 appeals for Wales to bag the final points of the game to conclude the 2025 Autumn Internationals, which have certainly delivered on drama this November.
